Show success!

So, this is me, working on my 45th birthday.

Being a somewhat reserved person, I wasn't that keen on dressing up in wings and a halo to reinforce the angelic nature of my business... but friends persuaded me it was definitely the thing to do. And I did it, and I'm glad I did it! It was fun.
The show (that is, the Auckland Gluten-Free Food and Allergy Show) was very good. I talked to hundreds of people, many with dairy allergies - and many of whom didn't even know you could get such a thing as soy cheese, let alone one as delicious as Cheezly!
As for the Soyatoo cream and the Olvebra sweetened condensed soya milk, let's just say there were some very happy people at the show.
My favourite moment was when I was talking to a seven-year-old boy who was very savvy about checking that things were gluten-free and dairy-free. And then he looked up at me and said, in a very matter-of-fact manner, "So, did you just make your halo from cardboard and tinfoil?"
Ah, yes, I did. And while I was making it, I laughed to think about all those people who think vegans are so self-righteous - and how they'd love the fact that this vegan was making herself a halo!

  1. Happy 45th! The halo and wings really do add...but like you, I wouldn't be likely to wear them either. You wear them well!
